Writing a radio play is part storytelling, part playwriting, and part sound design. During this 6-week workshop, students will gain the essential skills in making a captivating radio play. Students will work with instructor, Vinny Mraz, on writing techniques, exploring what makes a story unique to radio, and creating their own sound effects from objects around their homes. This workshop is for everyone, regardless of experience or knowledge of radio.

About the instructor
Vinny is a playwright, teaching artist and theater maker in NYC. As a teaching artist, he has spent the last six years working with senior citizens in writing workshops, acting classes and developing original show revues in senior centers and public libraries. In 2019, he was an artist-in-residence for the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s SU-CASA program. In addition to being a Lifetime Arts Trainer, Vinny is a teaching artist at the Rehabilitation Through the Arts, and an adjunct professor of theater at Manhattanville College.
