On February 25 and 26, Lifetime Arts traveled to Minneapolis to take part in a re-convening of the Minnesota organizations who were awarded funding through Aroha Philanthropies’ Seeding Vitality Arts Initiative in 2018 and who have been invited to continue their programs in 2019.
The event celebrated the accomplishments of 2018 and reflected on any challenges the organizations may have encountered implementing them. During a thoughtfully planned two-day intensive, the cohort members learned from one another’s experiences and constructed action steps to implement their 2019 programs. Getting this group together also served to strengthen the practitioners’ capacity to extend more and better Creative Aging programming to older adults in Minnesota going forward. Furthermore, with guidance from Aroha and Lifetime Arts, attendees thought about how they will sustain this work beyond the grant period.
