Attend a Creative Aging Event Near You
Thanks to the generous support of Aroha Philanthropies, Fan Fox and Leslie R. Samuels Foundation, the NAMM Foundation, and the Music Man Foundation, this fall nearly 100 culminating events in 15 states will showcase older adults making art and friendships across the United States.
The culminating events (a.k.a., exhibits, performances, and readings) that punctuate and celebrate every Creative Aging arts workshop series are always free and open to the public. These events can be a party, they can be entertaining, they will move you or get you moving. (The above video features highlights from the recent “Improv on It” workshop performance at the Riverdale Y (Bronx, NY), which was taught by Lifetime Arts Creative Aging Roster Teaching Artist, Frank Ingrasciotta.)
The main goals of a culminating event are to:
- Highlight the new artistic skills that the participants have mastered
- Share the creative output of the course with the community (and perhaps attract new participants)
- Showcase the high level of social engagement that Creative Aging programs foster
Don’t take it from us, listen to some of our participants talk about their experiences in their own words:
