Marjorie was a Storyteller in Michigan for 30 years before she moved to Johnson City, TN in 2006 to study storytelling at ETSU. Her repertoire includes Historical, Biographical, Folk & Fairy Tales and Mother Goose Rhymes & Fables.
She facilitates Creative Aging Workshops in Oral Narrative (Storytelling) for: Johnson City (TN) Public Library, Rogersville (TN) Arts Council, Mekkahs Meadow Active Senior Living, and “Arts Corps” after school program - Johnson City Area Arts Council.

I have been mentoring and coaching storytellers for some time. A class at JCPL opened the door to facilitating new 55+ tellers. The most challenging aspect is getting participants to work their stories with pictures and symbols rather than words. Many seniors think in words, they seem to have lost the ability to think in pictures. When they draw the story out in pictures and then dialogue like comic strips, their stories come alive in the telling.
