In 1997, Bob Bloom received certification as a MASTER TEACHING ARTIST by The Connecticut Office of the Arts. From 2007 to 2010, Bob served as chair of The Interactive Drumming Committee of The Percussive Arts Society, the largest percussion organization in the world.

For eighteen years, he was a faculty assistant to Dr. Babatunde Olatunji for his "Language of the Drums" courses at the Omega Institute, Rowe Conference Center, and Kripalu Institute for Yoga and Health.

At venues including Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Jorgenson Hall, Bob performed as a member of Olatunji's internationally renowned drumming and dance troupe, DRUMS OF PASSION.

Interactive drumming brings joy, sparks the spirit, and provides opportunities for socialization.

My presentations are participatory music events. These hoots engage entire groups of elders to get their hands on a colorful and curious array of melodic drums. Seniors, family members, and caregivers take a drum ride with me as I lead tunes that have smooth beats, cool rhythms, and catchy lyrics.

“We had over 50 of our members attend. All were able to participate at this dynamic and interactive program. Bob is pleasant to work with, has a good sense of humor, and is clearly knowledgeable about his craft. " --- Patty Watts, Program Coordinator / Wallingford Senior Center
