On March 20, this free networking salon, moderated by Master Teaching Artist, Julie Kline, was a hands-on, peer-to-peer learning experience in classroom assessment, social engagement methods, and feedback strategies for older adult learners. This workshop was designed for those leading sequential, skill-building Creative Aging programs in NYC such as SU-CASA residencies.

“It was a wonderful, informative evening, and I got a lot of anecdotal feedback about how full the evening was and how it provided much to think about and how to use/translate each artist approaches into their own classes.”

Lindsey Francis, Project Manager, Lifetime Arts

Offered on March 25, this webinar was designed for senior center staff in NYC who are planning the culminating event for a Creative Aging program at their location. Facilitator, Lindsey Francis, demonstrated examples of quality culminating event formats across various art forms (visual, performing, and literary); talked about working with teaching artists to plan and coordinate the events; reviewed best practices in marketing these events and taught attendees strategies that they might employ to foster deeper community connections.

Francis interviewed Director of HANAC Harmony JVL Innovative Senior Center, Allison Simmons Brownley, about her connections with local artists and experiences in development to find grants and organizational partners to provide the most engaging and beneficial programming possible.
