Walter Perez, born in Argentina, was introduced to Argentine tango in 1993 as a way of coping with a deep personal loss. But what began as tango as therapy soon became tango as a way of life. Walter was trained by renowned Argentine tango master teachers, and also by salsa master teachers (Eddie Torres and Jimmy Anton). He has appeared in Buenos Aires, New York and other major cities worldwide as a feature dancer in many tango productions, both on stage and on television. In 2013 he creates Friends of Argentine Tango, a non profit organization with the mission to promote, perform and teach A Tango as a means of enhancing wellness, cultural enrichment, and personal growth.

I am a strong believer in the benefits of tango and latin social dances for physical and emotional health, learning, and personal growth. Over twenty years of experience help me to develop my skills as a dancer and teacher, inspiring others to embrace and support my vision of tango as an art form that expresses a universal need to connect with others - and with one's own true self.
