Therese Schorn is a design graduate from FIT. In her career as a Theater and Visual artist she has worked in many venues, and in the past 10 years she has focused her work on teaching artistry.She currently works for the New Victory Theater where she has received extensive training working in collaboration with others creating lesson plans and other theater activities. For the Big apple circus she has worked in the hospital setting as a pediatric clown doctor, where she entertains and teaches workshops. She has also worked in the BAC program senior program, Vaudeville Caravan, which took place in the VA hospitals in Westchester NY. She presently works with Healthy Humor Clown Docs, in the hospital setting for children. Healthy Humor also has a senior program, Vaudeville visits. She completed the Lifetime Arts, Creative Aging Mentorship Program, based around storytelling. She was able to co-teach, and bring her knowledge of brain into the classroom.

 

I am very interested in working with seniors. I believe the arts can play an important role in the quality and enjoyment of life, including building community, which has a positive impact on the health and well-being of seniors.
