Laura Grace Weldon is a writer, editor, and educator with over 30 years experience teaching in varied settings including schools, community centers, detention facilities, and library arts programs. She is the author of a poetry collection titled Tending and a handbook of alternative education titled Free Range Learning, with a book of essays due out soon. Her creative nonfiction, essays, reviews, short stories, and poetry appear in mainstream as well as literary publications. As a working writer and editor, she's able to help participants advance skills, build confidence, generate myriad story ideas, and turn those ideas into finished pieces. Her workshops emphasize respect for each writers' voice.

Although we have too few opportunities in today's busy world, we humans are a storytelling species. The more we bring forth the stories we carry, the more we more fully understand ourselves and the world around us.  At every age, participatory creative arts helps us become healthier in mind, body, and spirit. It's an honor to work with people as they come into greater awareness of their unique perspectives.
