Laura Cooperman has collaborated with educators, artists, and institutions to develop and teach arts programming for over 10 years. For the past four years Cooperman has been the Artist in Residence at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, where she facilitates community and in hospital workshops for people affected by cancer. Cooperman also runs an art therapy program for older adults and people with disabilities at Abington Arms, a HUD housing facility in University Circle. She is an adjunct professor at the Cleveland Institute of Art and a Resident Teaching Artist with the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning.

Cooperman received a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her work has been recognized both regionally as the recipient of Cuyahoga County's Creative Workforce Fellowship and nationally with shows in New York, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. Internationally she has participated in the Red Gate Residency in Beijing, China and her work toured the UK with the Manchester Art Gallery. She was commissioned to create work for New York City's Grand Central Terminal and was awarded a public art commission from the City of Cleveland's 3rd District Police Station.

I think art is a strong tool to not only explore our personal world but also to connect with others. I enjoy facilitating these connections in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
