Together with area choir conductors, Garrett Lathe founded the  Youth Chorale of Central Minnesota in 2005 and has served as its Artistic Director since that time. He also conducts Cantanti and the Chamber Singers. Mr. Lathe was in the education field for seventeen years, serving as a high school choir director in northern and Central Minnesota in Bagley, Staples-Motley, and Sartell. In Sartell, Mr. Lathe also served as Department Chair, founded the Sartell Elementary Choir, and saw the high school choral program double in size in his thirteen year tenure. In addition to his responsibilities with YCCM, Mr. Lathe is the middle school choir director for the Sauk Rapids-Rice school district. He is also involved in local theater with his family. He is a graduate of Bemidji State University under the mentorship of Paul Brandvik, and is a member of the National Association for Music Education, Minnesota Music Educators Association, and is a member and has served on the Executive Board of the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota.

Singing is a lifetime opportunity. The opportunity to walk along side oder adults as they reconnect or discover their singing voice is incredibly rewarding. Singing is such a personal experience, and when shared in a community creates a connection that is immediately meaningful.
