Shortly after graduating Fordham University I began acting on TV stage and film in the NYC area. Working with different theatre companies in downtown Off-Off Broadway venues I put on all sort of hats that included workshops, producing writing and acting, Currently a member of both Magis Theatre and Repertorio Español where I began to use my skill as a teaching artist. After being a teaching assistant at the K-!2 level, I began solo teaching in Repertorio's program EDAD DE ORO (The Golden Age). This was Repertorio's outreach to Senior Centers in the New York City area. I began with the first 2 intro sessions at the Castle Hill Senior Center in the Bronx and then was given the Dyckman Senior Center in Manhattan for 12 weeks (2 sessions per weeks). All these classes were taught bilingual since the communities involved have English and/ or Spanish speaking members

I became aware of the beneficial aspects of the arts on senior citizens with the program EDAD DE ORO for Repertorio Español. Teaching basic acting techniques with exercises, writing and scene work. I began seeing there growth in expression. People who were just observing the sessions who were too shy to participate by the last two or three sessions were sharing their work and performed it before an invited audience at the final performance. As I saw them grow as writers and performers I began to realize how beneficial the program was for senior citizens whose minds are so full of life experience and need the opportunity to express themselves
