Director of Communications & Marketing

Lifetime Arts is seeking a full time Director of Communications and Marketing to work in our New Rochelle, NY office beginning in September of 2017.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, communications and public relations, preferably in the not for profit sector.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creation and implementation of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the organization’s image and position within the field and the general public nationally;
  • Facilitation of internal and external communications including website and social media;
  • Oversight of the design and production of print and online materials and resources;
  • Public relations including media outlet research/contact;
  • Digital content management;
  • Contact management.


  • Bachelor degree required – Master degree preferred;
  • No less than 5 years of communications/public relations/marketing experience experience, preferably within the nonprofit sector;
  • Experience in developing and implementing a strategic communications plan;
  • Experience in managing an organization’s social media and website, including content creation and digital media management;
  • Possess strong writing, editing, public speaking and leadership skills, along with the ability to work as part of a team;
  • Experience in directing the work of outside professionals;
  • Knowledge of WordPress preferred.

Program Coordinator

We seek a Full Time Program Coordinator to support our national initiatives and ongoing service delivery programs. These include:

  • The Creative Aging Public Libraries Initiative—Lifetime Art’s signature project that brings instructional arts programs for older adults to public libraries across the country.
  • The Lifetime Arts Toolkit – An online resource with basic information, tools, and templates to guide public libraries in developing their own Creative Aging programs.
  • Creative Aging Roster – A national on-line listing of teaching artists who are qualified to teach older adults in community settings. To be listed on the Roster, teaching artists must apply and have their credentials reviewed by a panel of cross-sector experts.
  • Professional Development and Training—a wide range of training programs and services for teaching artists, cultural, arts and community organizations. These include online and live trainings and related resource materials.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the liaison for project partners including library administrators, librarians, teaching artists, arts, cultural and community organizations;
  • Creating and maintaining all project records, schedules and directories;
  • Coordinating program documentation, evaluation efforts and events, including professional development and technical assistance workshops;  
  • Coordinating all facets of the Roster process, including application assistance, and reference checks;
  • Along with other staff and consultants, provide support for live training sessions.


  • BA or BFA in arts or arts education field preferred;
  • No less than two years of administrative experience, preferably with arts education and within the nonprofit sector;
  • Experience in community arts programming and partnership development;
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills; exceptional attention to detail, deadlines, and project schedules;
  • Ability to manage and develop administrative systems and databases;
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills;
